Basic Handgun

Service Description

Our Basic Handgun starts with the fundamentals. The classroom portion discusses firearm safety, the physical mechanics of the firearm and allows students to work through manipulations of the firearm with a cold gun. The class then progresses to good grip and good stance. We demonstrate why grip is imperative to accuracy and how the grip we teach manages recoil. Then we discuss sight picture and irons/red dots. We keep the class sizes very small, typically four or less students, so each student gets to focus on what is pertinent to them. We strive to tailor the material to the students’ interest so we don’t waste time on a subject that doesn’t have interest and we can focus more on the things students want to learn. Each session typically has two instructors. Students typically shoot around 100-150 rounds but that can be less with someone very new to firearms. Basic Handgun runs around 2-2.5hours. By the end, students are confident to practice by themselves at the range.
